After Bengaluru, Video Shows Shivamogga Students Cleaning School Toilets; Edu Minister in Trouble
Karnataka School News: Reportedly, head master Shankarappa and other teachers had engaged the school children in cleaning toilets.

A video of students allegedly cleaning toilet in Karnataka education minister Madhu Bangarappa’s home district of Shivamogga has gone viral on social media, prompting District Block Education Officer to file a report.

The students studying at Guddada Neralakere village in the limits of Komaranahalli gram panchayat were allegedly seen cleaning toilets.

The Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) submitted a complaint in this regard with assistant commissioner Satyanarayana, while parents and activists have demanded action against the accused teachers.

Reportedly, head master Shankarappa and other teachers had engaged the school children in cleaning toilets.

According to the BEO, the incident took place last week and the teachers and the head master claimed that they had just asked the students to pour water in the toilets and not clean them.

On December 23, the Karnataka Police arrested the headmistress of a government school for allegedly making the children clean toilets in Bengaluru.

According to The New Indian Express, the video of the incident at Andrahalli Government School in Bengaluru North showed students holding acid bottles and cleaning toilets with broomsticks.

Furious parents and Kannada activists in the region protested outside the school on December 22, calling for stringent actions to be taken.
