New Battery Tech Can Last For 50 Years Without Needing To Charge: Here Are The Details
This new battery model could soon be part of phones and drones, offering them battery life of years and not days.

What if we tell you that a new battery tech has been developed which will last really long. The company behind this battery tech says you can make it run for a whopping 50 years without needing any charge.

Imagine this battery equipped into a smartphone, and you are looking at a device that has a battery which outlasts the device itself by a long stretch. The technology comes via a China-based startup called Betavolt which has developed a coin-sized battery using nuclear tech, as claimed by them.

This is a big step into the future of battery tech and its ability to miniaturise atomic energy into a battery unit shows the power of and ability that nuclear tech offers in these spaces. “Betavolt atomic energy batteries can meet the needs of long-lasting power supply in multiple scenarios, such as aerospace, AI equipment, medical equipment, microprocessors, advanced sensors, small drones and micro-robots,” as per the company’s statement quoted in a media report.

Testing phase has already started for the battery prototypes which is claimed to be a next-gen tech. Soon, you could see these batteries inside phones or even drones, which will take their running life to a whole new level.

You also might be concerned if the atomic energy inside makes it combustible to minor lapses, the company assures that the layered structure of the battery keeps it fire resistant and able to work in the most extreme weather conditions, both heat and cold. We can’t wait to see if this battery can actually run this long when it goes into commercial production, and even then, if it manages to last for a few years, the whole landscape of smartphone battery management will see a major evolution.
