Lok Sabha Polls: PM Modi Invites Young Voters to Contribute to BJP Manifesto, Send Inputs on NaMo App
PM Narendra Modi told young voters that they have the responsibility of making India developed in the next 25 years, the same way the young generation had done in the 25 years before Independence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday invited young voters to contribute to the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and asked them to share their thoughts on the NaMo app. He said he is looking forward to meeting some of the contributors soon.

“I invite the youth of India to contribute to the @BJP4India Manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Share your thoughts on the NaMo App. I look forward to meeting some of the contributors myself in the future. https://nm-4.com/2C1gAb” the prime minister said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

The BJP said it is looking forward to suggestions from Indian citizens as those will effectively “shape” the party’s manifesto. “How should BJP’s manifesto be? You can send suggestions related to this directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through NaMo app,” it said.

Earlier in the day, the BJP launched its campaign theme song and video, Tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain, sounding the poll bugle for the elections that will be held in April-May.

Prime Minister Modi’s social media post about the BJP manifesto came on the occasion of National Voters’ Day, for which he also urged those who have not yet registered themselves as voters to do so. “Greetings on National Voters Day, an occasion which celebrates our vibrant democracy and also a day to encourage people to register as voters, if they haven’t already,” he said on X.

Since 2011, the National Voters’ Day has been celebrated on January 25 every year to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission (EC). Its main purpose is to encourage voters to take part in the electoral process. The poll body holds drives to facilitate the enrolment of voters, especially the new ones.

‘Took Country Out of Darkness Staring at Youngsters’

In a virtual address to young voters organised by the youth wing of the ruling BJP, PM Modi said they have the responsibility of making the country developed in the next 25 years in the same way the young generation during the 25 years before Independence had for its freedom. He said his government had taken the country out of the darkness staring at youngsters 10 to 12 years back.

Taking a swipe at opposition parties, Modi said the youth is against corruption and ‘parivarwaad’ (nepotism), adding that family-run parties never allow other youngsters to move ahead. “The mindset of leaders of these parties is anti-youth. You have to defeat these family parties with the strength of your votes,” he said.

He said the country is now talking of possibilities which the generation before 2014, the year the BJP came to power at the Centre, has given up hope on. Corruption and scams made headlines then while credibility and success stories are being talked about now, he added.

Modi further said there are limitless opportunities for youngsters now. “It is Modi’s guarantee that your dreams are my resolve,” he said, asserting that the youth has always been his priority.
