The much-anticipated Kannada film, Tagarupalya, unveiled its trailer on October 18 and is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 27. Written and directed by Umesh K Krupa, this comedy-filled family drama boasts a talented cast with Nagabhushana, Amrutha Prem, and Vasuki Vaibhav in leading roles.
What adds to the buzz surrounding the movie is that it is produced by the versatile actor-turned-producer, Kalenahalli Dhananjay, under the banner of Daali Pictures. Dhananjay gained fame with his remarkable performance as a menacing villain in Tagaru, starring Shivarajkumar, earning him the moniker Daali Dhananjay from his character’s name in the film.
The trailer launch event for Tagarupalya was a star-studded affair held in Bangalore, and it saw the presence of popular Kannada actor Darshan. Reportedly, the makers of the film visited Darshan during his shooting for the upcoming movie Kateera and extended an invitation for him to be the chief guest at the Tagarupalya trailer launch event, scheduled for October 18. At the event, Darshan lauded the dedication and hard work of the Tagarupalya team and wished them great success. He also expressed a candid desire to work under Daali Pictures, signalling his interest in collaborating with Dhananjay’s banner.
For Dhananjay, Tagarupalya marks his third home production, following the success of Badava Rascal and Head Bush.
The trailer for Tagarupalya has been met with a phenomenal response, amassing over 1 million views so far. One of the intriguing aspects of the film is the debut of Amrutha Prem, the daughter of Kannada actor Prem Kumar, who takes on a prominent role in the movie. Based on the trailer, Tagarupalya promises to deliver a tightly packed comedy that will entertain the audience. The film’s storyline revolves around a marriage ritual that necessitates the beheading of a sheep. However, the plot takes a comedic turn when the sheep adamantly refuses to cooperate, leading to a series of amusing and unexpected events.
The film’s music is composed by Vasuki Vaibhav, with lyrics for the songs penned by Daali Dhananjay himself.
