The films garnered thousands of crores, thereby leading to significant growth in terms of monetary benefits. Not only this, but the cinephiles also showered some actors, directors and talents involved in the making of these films to bring back the originality and depth that the Indian entertainment industry is known for. However, these positive outcomes have certainly proved to be miraculous for one actor who is now the highest-paid actor in Asia.

This year, Rajinikanth finally had a massive release, titled Jailer. The positive word of mouth, the right strategy and Thalaiva’s loyal fan base contributed their bit for the film to become one of the most successful films of the year internationally. It was after his film 2.0, which was released in 2018, that the actor gave a mammoth successful film. His last few releases like Petta, Darbar, or Annaatthe were all moderate hits. Now, with the release of Jailer, Rajinikanth has clinched another title.

Reports say that Rajinikanth has become the highest-paid actor not only in India but in Asia as well and he has charged a whopping Rs 250+ crore for acting in Thalaivar 171, directed by Lokesh Kanagraj. Lokesh Kanagraj, whose recent film Leo has received a positive response from the critics as well as the audience, is set to bring his next Thalaivar 171 with Rajinikanth. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film is expected to be a part of (LCU) Lokesh Cinematic Universe. According to reports, Rajini was also offered the distribution rights for a particular region, but he rejected the offer.

Jailer was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film shattered various records to generate an estimated amount of Rs 640 crores in a matter of 23 days. The film is the second biggest Tamil film globally. In the aftermath, Thalaiva is now expecting a total of Rs 260-280 crore for his next.
