Director Jayatheertha’s ambitious period film Kaiva has been piquing a lot of interest as the Kannada film industry has finally reached the standards set by its Telugu and Tamil counterparts The teaser of the film was recently released. Megha Shetty caught everyone’s attention at the teaser launch event, wearing blue pants and a blue jacket.

Reportedly, Megha is playing a Muslim girl in Kaiva. Megha, who switched from teleserials to movies, has already acted in movies such as Dil Pasand and Tribble Riding. Kaiva will be her third appearance in a Kannada film.

While a lot of the details of Kaiva’s subject matter and the making remain a secret, the first look and the recently released teaser shed some light on it. The first update coincided with lead actor Dhanveerrah’s birthday, and an intense and mysterious aspect of his persona is shown in the first glimpse.

Kaiva is set in 1983 and explores a romantic narrative with elements of crime against the backdrop of the famous annual Bengaluru Karaga festival. The character of Dhanveerrah alludes to Lord Kaivara Bheema. The teaser encompasses both romance between Dhanveearah and Megha Shetty as well as some gravity-defying fight scenes.

In a recent interview, Jayathirtha disclosed to an online publication that the story of Kaiva is based on a true incident that happened around the 1980s. A release date for the film is anticipated shortly as it is now in the post-production stage. Shwet Priya Naik has handled the cinematography for Kaiva, which has music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath of Kantara fame.

In addition, filmmaker Jayathirtha is getting ready for the release of Banaras, his second epic love story starring Zaid Khan and Sonal Monteiro. Banaras, an enticing romantic drama, has been extensively filmed in Varanasi, the holy city, encompassing all 64 ghats. On November 4, the film will be released in theatres. It will also be released simultaneously in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
