Popular social media stars from Karnataka, Varun Aradhya and Varsha Kaveri were considered a power couple with fans vouching for the two to stay together. Varun and Varsha reportedly fell in love while making reels on social media together but last month, they revealed that they had drifted apart from one another. Fans had noticed that the former couple were not appearing in reels together anymore and that they had deleted their previous content together. After being pestered by fans to talk about it, both Varun and Varsha confirmed that they had broken up and requested the fans to respect their decision.
But some fans dragged in another person to the entire fiasco. Kannada stress Sonu Gowda was blamed by some fans to have been the reason for Varun and Varsha’s breakup. Last month, when Sonu was vacationing in the Maldives and had posted some pictures from there, the comments section was filled with trolls holding her responsible for the breakup. Now, Sonu has cleared the air in a recent interview and said that she had nothing to do with Varun and Varsha parting ways.
She said that people were trolling her on social media and that her own friends were sending screenshots of the comments and asking her if the rumours were true. Sonu requested people to not ask her about Varun and Varsha’s breakup as she was not involved in any way. She added that she was friends with both of them who were in love for 5 years and was thus torn between the two and stuck to saying that she had not done anything wrong. She remarked that trolls on Instagram had only one job, to spread rumours and that she did not care about them.
Sonu Gowda had been subjected to online trolling earlier as well when some of her private photos and videos were leaked on the internet by her ex-boyfriend. Amidst backlash, she had made a YouTube video narrating her ordeal and requesting people to not post negative comments for something that was not her fault.
