New Delhi: The five-day long labour stir at Hero Honda's Gurgaon plant ended late on Saturday night with the management and the striking contractual workers reaching an agreement.

"They (contract workers) have vacated their agitation unilaterally and the management has assured them that it will

review their demands," said a senior company official.

The work at the plant is expected to resume from Sunday, he said.

A representative of the agitating workers said an agreement was reached with the management after the latter's

assurance to review the demands, including job regularisation and salary hike.

The Gurgaon-plant, producing around 5800 vehicles each day, has been in the middle of a labour unrest since April 10

with 2000 contract workers striking work demanding among other things regularisation of jobs, higher wages and medical facilities among other benefits.

Production at the plant had been completely disrupted due to the agitation.
