HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India shed around a per cent each.
Mumbai: The market extended its southward journey for the fifth consecutive session on Tuesday. The Sensex lost 30.30 points to 28161.72 and the Nifty fell 7.95 points to 8542.95.
About 1111 shares have advanced, 1701 shares declined, and 182 shares are unchanged on the BSE. Banks pulled the market down again.
HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India shed around a per cent each. Tata Motors plunged 3.4 per cent.
