Mansoor Ali Khan had applied for an anticipatory bail in connection with the case registered against him for his rape comment about Trisha. According to reports, Mansoor had filed for the anticipatory bail after an FIR was filed against him in Chennai. However, the court reportedly rejected it. According to India Today, the court in Chennai rejected his plea because of errors in the bail application.
The report also shared that the court reprimanded him for wasting their time. Meanwhile, News18 has learnt that Mansoor Ali Khan appeared in front of Chennai Police for questioning. During interrogation, he told Chennai police that if Trisha has been hurt by his statements, he is equally pained too. He also told the police that he is willing to appear before the police anytime in connnection with this case.
For the unversed, Mansoor Ali Khan said at a press conference last week that he was disappointed about not sharing the screen with Trisha in Leo. In the process, he made an insensitive comment about the actress. “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir,” he said.
Trisha slammed the actor on X, previously known as Twitter, and said that she will ensure they never work again. The National Commission For Women (NCW) had also asked Tamil Nadu DGP to take action against the actor. Mansoor Ali Khan has been booked under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) and Section 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to outrage modesty of woman) in the case.
