Prabhas became a pan-India star by essaying the role of the protagonist in the Baahubali franchise. Since his Baahubali films, he has not been able to secure a single hit. Now, he has pinned all his hopes on some of his upcoming films including the one directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. According to reports, actress Sreeleela will play the female lead in this movie.
Mythri Movie Makers will produce it which is yet to be titled. Hanu Raghavapudi’s last release Sita Ramam had received an astounding response from the audience. If reports of Sreeleela acting in this film are true, then it will mark her first collaboration with Prabhas.
According to a report on Pinkvilla, similar to Sita Ramam, Hanu’s upcoming project with Prabhas will also be a love story. The story will reportedly be set against the backdrop of World War 2. This period romance film first gained attention back in May, when there were reports of Prabhas collaborating with Hanu Raghavapudi for a project. As per 123Telugu, Hanu had narrated the story to Prabhas and he liked the narration very much. An official confirmation regarding the film and its cast, however, is still awaited.
The shooting of this film may be delayed for quite some time, as there are reports that Sreeleela is planning to take a break from films. She is reportedly currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Medicine and is on the verge of completing her studies this year. Now, she has opted for a break, to concentrate on the preparation of her final examinations.
All three films of Prabhas post the Baahubali franchise, including Saaho, Radhe Shyaam and Adipurush turned out to be unsuccessful ventures. His last film Adipurush received scathing criticism for its poor VFX, obscene dialogues and several other aspects.
Prabhas’ fans are looking forward to his film Salaar: Ceasefire, which might be released in the last week of April 2024. Salaar: Part 1-Ceasfire has been delayed earlier, as there were reports that it was supposed to be released in September 2023.
