Actress Mohini has predominantly worked as an actress in South Indian Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films. She was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, and attended Children’s Garden Higher Secondary School, in Chennai. She initially started her career as a child artist. Later, she made her acting debut in 1991 with the film Eeramana Rojave. The movie was written, directed, and produced by Keyaar. The film also stars newcomers Shiva, Srividya, and Nassar in pivotal roles and received positive reviews from critics. It was later remade in Hindi as Abhi Abhi in 1992. After this success, Mohini never looked back.
As per reports, the actress was the dream girl of the 90s. She worked in a huge number of superhit films like Nadodi Pattukkaran, Naan Pesa Ninaipathellam, Pattukottai Periyappa, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, Mama Bagunnava, and Mama Bagunnava, to name a few.
Despite having a successful career after marriage, the actress stayed away from the cinema world. After marriage, Mohini settled in America. But after some time, the actress divorced her husband. However, according to reports, Mohini has now become a Christian preacher in America. She has confirmed this information through an interview.
The actress was last seen in the 2011 Malayalam-language political action thriller film Collector. The movie was directed by Anil C. Menon and featured Suresh Gopi as the lead. Reports suggest that Mohini has acted in over 100 movies in all South Indian languages and worked with renowned directors like Hariharan, Kamal, and Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.
She has also appeared in a few TV shows like Kadhal Pagadai, Chinna Chinna Aasai (Butterflies), and Kathanar Kadamattathu Kathanar, to name a few.
