The fans went gaga over Suryakumar Yadav's bowling in the final over. Here's how they reacted.

With six runs to defend off the final over, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav rose to the occasion and earned a memorable win for his side against Sri Lanka in the third T20I in Pallekele on Tuesday. Surya, who did not bowl at all in the third T20I until that moment, produced the final over of the contest and conceded five runs to force the match into Super Over. Team India, eventually, won the Super Over to whitewash Sri Lanka in the T20I series at Pallekele.

Sony Sports Network, the official broadcaster of the series, shared a video of Surya’s final-over genius on X (formerly Twitter). “Game-changing batting. Game-changing bowling,” read the caption of the post.

The fans went gaga over Suryakumar Yadav’s bowling in the final over. Here’s how they reacted:

Suryakumar Yadav started the over on a promising note without conceding a single run on the first delivery. On the very next ball, the India captain picked up the first wicket of his T20I career having dismissed Kamindu Mendis. Surya continued his brilliance, claiming the wicket of Maheesh Theekshana on the third ball of the over. With three runs needed off the final delivery of the game, the hosts managed to score two forcing the contest into a Super Over.

“More than the last over, I feel when we were around 30 for 4 and 48 for 5, how the boys showed character in the middle and took the game away from them, I felt 140 was par score on that track and the way they batted. When we were going in during our fielding sessions, I told them I had seen such kinds of games. I think if we put our heart in for one, one-and-a-half hours we can pull it off,” Suryakumar Yadav said at the presentation, as per ESPNcricinfo.

Having earned a resounding victory in the T20Is, India and Sri Lanka will now face each other in three ODIs. The 50-over series is scheduled to start from August 2.
