'Irrelevant Whether From India or Pakistan...Appalling Behaviour': Mohammed Rizwan Shows Support For Haris Rauf After Viral Fan Incident

The outpouring of solidarity for Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf continues as Mohammad Rizwan came to support his teammate’s reactions, following a viral video of the pacer being abused by a fan.

Earlier on Tuesday, a video went viral on social media where the Pakistan international fast-bowler was seen confronting a fan after something he said triggered Rauf.

In the video, the pacer was fuming asking the fan how he could hurl abuses at his father which is likely the trigger for the entire tussle to begin with, as he was restrained by his wife who accompanied him as the heat of the situation evaporated slowly.

After the chaos and confusion that ensued online following the same, the pacer had put up a short note on his official handle on X where he revealed his side of the story, stating that he will not be one to put up with disrespect towards his family from anyone at any cost.

Much was made of the individual who had harassed Rauf as such, especially the nationality of the fan.

Rauf can be heard saying, “How can you abuse my father,” (gaali baap ko de raha hai) before proceeding to say, “Indian hi hai yeh’ (He is surely Indian).”

The fan then clarifies that he is in fact from Pakistan. Still, Rauf’s anger boils over further and he shouts at the fan asking him, “Pakistan se hai, fir bhi yeh teri haalat hai (this is your situation despite being from Pakistan)”?

Rizwan, who was Rauf’s teammate in the ongoing T20 World Cup has now spoke out on the incident, stating that it was not the nationality, but the lack of manners and values that was deplorable and that no one has the right to act the way they did to Rauf.

“It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India. What truly matters is that this individual lacked values and manner,” write Rizwan on a post from his official X account.

“No one has the right to disrespect any human being, especially in front of their family members. Such appalling behavior must be stopped. Values like tolerance, respect, and compassion are increasingly rare commodities.”

The Pakistan Cricket Team has been under the spotlight ever since they suffered a premature exit in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 where they were eliminated in the group stages.

The side suffered defeats against their arch-rivals India along with the co-hosts USA which was arguably the biggest upset of the tournament which resulted in Pakistan’s exit.
