Royal Challengers Bengaluru all-rounder Cameron Green has lavished immense praise on Virat Kohli. Green, who had a terrific first season with Kohli at RCB, pointed out that the star India batter gave 110 percent every single time he played.

Green was traded to the Bengaluru-based franchise having spent one season at Mumbai Indians.

“It’s always pretty special when you look back at these times playing with Virat. He gave 110% every single time he plays, which is the beauty of him. It’s never towards a batter or anything, it’s just pumping himself up, pumping the team up,” Green said as per The Times of India.

Cameron Green was roped in by Mumbai Indians for an amount of Rs 17.5 crore at the IPL 2023 auction. During his time at MI last year, Green took part in 16 matches. Green scored one century and two half centuries representing the five-time champions in IPL 2023.

Cameron Green donned the RCB jersey in 13 games, having scored 255 runs at an average of 31.88. The Aussie all-rounder’s strike rate has also been an impressive 143.26 in the last edition of the IPL. Green is currently part of the Australian team for the T20 World Cup. Green was with the Australian side that had won the ODI World Cup, held in India last year.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has had a tremendous outing in the IPL 2024 season. The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru exhibited sublime batting to win the Orange Cap. Kohli accumulated 741 runs at a whopping average of 61.75. He even scored one century and five half centuries for the RCB last season.

There have been plenty of talks about Virat Kohli’s position in the Team India batting order in the T20 World Cup. Apart from skipper Rohit Sharma, the Indian team management has to choose between Kohli and youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, for the remaining opener’s slot.

While many experts have said that the Rohit-Kohli combination must be deployed, India head coach Rahul Dravid denied to open the cards ahead of the opening T20 World Cup fixture against Ireland.

“We have got options. We are obviously not going to reveal our cards just yet. We have got Rohit and Jaiswal and Virat’s opening in the IPL as well. We’ve picked the team keeping in mind that we did have three options and we could pick and choose what we wanted depending on the conditions, depending on the kind of combination we go into these games with,” Rahul Dravid told reporters.

India’s opening T20 World Cup 2024 fixture against Ireland will be played today at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
