'Management Trusts Me': Ravi Bishnoi Pleased to Handle Death-Bowling Duties as Spinner Shines in 2nd T20I vs SL
Ravi Bishnoi was utilised in the 17th over where he picked up 2 wickets and the spinner is more than happy to bowl at the death for the Indian team.

The Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav managed to take the win in the rain-affected second T20I at Pallekkele by seven wickets despite the game being reduced to just 8 overs. The target was revised to 78 in 8 overs but the Men in Blue chased it down with 9 balls to spare, taking an unassailable lead in the series.

Before the rain interruption, Ravi Bishnoi was the standout bowler from the Indian side in the first innings as he finished with three wickets while giving away 26 runs in his quota of four overs.

The leg-spinner was used straight after the powerplay where he conceded two boundaries in his first over of the innings. However, he came back later in the 10th over where he delivered the big wicket of Pathum Nissanka who looked set to go for a big individual score.

Bishnoi suggested that the pitch had more turn to offer and he used that to his advantage when he picked up his wickets.

“The pitch was different today. It wasn’t turning in the first innings yesterday, but it was turning today. My pace is a good pace for me, I enjoy bowling in that pace,” he said.

Another interesting aspect about his bowling is that despite being a leg-spinner, Bishnoi has been seen primarily using his wrong-un as his stock delivery with the one turning into the right-hander.

“I love bowling wrong’uns, and I try to do what works for me. Wrong’uns work against the left-hander,” he commented.

The captain handed over the ball to Bishnoi in the 17th over which was not a usual occurrence but he backed himself with the responsibility and delivered with the wickets of Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga to finish off his quota.

“Bowling at the death shows the management trusts me, and I love that responsibility,” he added.

With the Indian team claiming the series, the third and final T20I will be a dead-rubber match but the Men in Blue will be curious to try out their combinations and will hope that their star batter, Shubman Gill is back for the final game which will also take place in Pallekele.
