The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 is slated to take place between May 15 and May 31. For the CUET UG 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is currently conducting the registration procedure. The official websites, exams.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in, will host the application portal until the deadline on March 26. Moreover, University Grants Commission (UGC) has reaffirmed that the CUET UG exam schedule will remain unchanged in light of the Lok Sabha election date announcement
As the registration window for the CUET UG 2024 draws to a close, University Grants Commission Chairman Jagadesh Kumar stated that the CUET UG difficulty level is being kept at a moderate level in order to minimise students’ dependency on coaching centres, as reported by ANI.
UGC believes that students are more inclined to view CUET-UG as a reasonable and doable task if the questions are moderately difficult. Students’ intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy can be enhanced by answering questions with a suitable difficulty level since they will feel more confident The UGC Chairman was quoted by ANI as saying, “This positive feeling experienced by the students diffuses from one batch to another and reduces their dependency on coaching.”
The NTA has announced a hybrid exam structure for CUET-UG 2024 that includes both computer-based testing and pen-and-paper formats for certain disciplines, marking a major shift from standard practice. This has led to a significant increase in the number of exam venues this year.
Candidates should keep in mind that last year, CUET candidates could choose up to ten subjects. However, this year, candidates can only select up to six subjects. The majority of candidates, according to the NTA, did not select the ten options. The NTA had previously also stated that the allotment of exam venues will be made simpler by narrowing the subjects included in the test papers. Three domain subjects, two languages, and one general subject will be tackled in these six test papers.
The standardised CUET-UG 2024 exam simplifies the undergraduate admissions procedure for several public, private, deemed, and central universities across the country.
