The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) recently declared the results of the Class 10 board examination, unveiling a pass percentage of 74.61%. This figure marks a noticeable decline compared to the previous year’s remarkable 89.7% pass rate, signalling a shift in academic outcomes amid unprecedented challenges.
Topping the charts this year is Riddhima Sharma, a student hailing from the Government Girl Senior Secondary School in Nadaun, located within the scenic landscape of the Hamirpur district. Riddhima’s exceptional achievement—scoring an impressive 699 out of 700 marks—elicited an outpouring of joy and pride from her family, who celebrated this milestone moment with fervour.
In the aftermath of her triumph, Riddhima graciously attributed her success to the support and guidance her parents and teachers provided. She highlighted the pivotal role played by her educators, whose mentorship and assistance enabled her to navigate academic hurdles and excel in her pursuits.
With aspirations to pursue a career in medicine, Riddhima expressed her commitment to realising her dream, pledging to channel her efforts with even greater dedication and diligence. Her determination to carve a path in the medical field stands as a testament to her resilience and ambition.
Notably, the Hamirpur district saw a remarkable showing in the top ten rankings, with 19 students securing coveted positions. Among them, three students from Government Girl Senior Secondary School, Nadaun, showcased their academic prowess, underscoring the institution’s commitment to fostering excellence.
Kritika Sharma, hailing from Bhawarna town in Kangra district, emerged as the second-place holder statewide, boasting an impressive score of 698 out of 700. Meanwhile, three students—Shivam Sharma, Dhriti Tegta, and Rushil Sood—claimed the third rank, each achieving a commendable score of 697 out of 700.
Despite the celebratory moments, the announcement also showed some grieving statistics, with 12,613 students falling short of passing the examination. Additionally, 10,474 students found themselves placed in the HPBOSE Class 10 result compartment category, allowing them to redeem their academic standing through compartment examinations—an avenue for redemption that awaits scheduling by the board.
