The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the answer key for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 soon. The answer key is expected in one or two weeks, however, an official date is yet to be announced. Once out, candidates who have appeared for this year’s NEET UG can download it from the agency’s official website at exams.nta.ac.in. Based on the past year’s record, the answer key is likely to be released by May end or June first week.
NEET UG is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency for admissions to undergraduate courses like MBBS, BDS, BSMS, and BAMS etc in all medical colleges and dental colleges in the country.
This year, this exam was held on May 5 from 2 pm to 5:20 pm at different centres located in 557 cities throughout the country. Around 24 lakh students enrolled for the examination.
The written exam consisted of a total of 720 marks (Physics for 180 marks, Chemistry for 180 marks, and Biology for 360 marks. Bio was divided into Zoology and Botany for 180 marks each).
NEET UG 2024 Answer Key: Marking Scheme
For every correct response, the students will be awarded with 4 marks and for every wrong attempt, 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be provided or deducted if the question is skipped. For attempts with more than one response, 1 mark will be deducted.
NEET UG 2024 Answer Key: Expected Cut-off
The cut-off for this year’s NEET UG is expected to be the same as last year. For medical aspirants of the General category, the expected cut-off is 715-117 and for General PH candidates, it is 116-105. For reserved categories including Scheduled Cast (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC), the expected cut-off is 116-93.
Last year, the NEET UGwas conducted on May 7 and the answer key was released on June 2. However, in 2022 the exam was held on July 17.
The final results for the NEET UG 2024 will be announced on June 14 on the official website of the National Testing Agency at exams.nta.ac.in. Students are advised to keep an eye on the website and the agency’s social media handles.
