Six Students From Bihar’s Gaya Crack IIT JEE Advanced 2024

The result of the JEE Advanced exam was declared by IIT Madras on June 9. A total of 48,248 candidates successfully cleared the exam this year. Students from Bihar have secured good positions to get admission to the prestigious IIT colleges in India. A total of six students of Manpur Patwatoli from the Gaya district of Bihar have passed the examination with good ranks. There are several educational institutions in Gaya, where students are preparing for medical and engineering exams on the lines of Kota and Patna. All these students are from Vriksha: Be The Change Sansthan, operating in Manpur Patwatoli itself, where they were given free preparation. Students who passed the JEE Advanced are Ankush, Anora, Vishal, Rudra, Omprakash and Priyanshu.

Ankush got an OBC rank of 1976, Anora got 10,442 in the general category, Vishal got an OBC rank of 2,823, Rudra got an EWS rank of 4172, Omprakash got an OBC rank 6,887, while Priyanshu got SC rank 3445. All the students are expected to get admission to the prestigious IIT colleges of the country. The candidates belong to Patwatoli and their families run handloom and powerloom. One of these students is Priyanshu Kumar, who belongs to a very poor family and his parents support their family by working as labourers. Last year, a total of 40 students of Manpur Patwatoli passed the first stage of JEE Mains examination.

This time, out of 1,80,200 candidates who appeared for both Papers 1 and 2, a total of 48,248 candidates have passed including 7,964 girls. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority counselling for admission to IIT NIT will start on June 10.

This counselling will be held in 5 rounds between June 10 and July 26. The IIT JEE Advanced entrance exam was conducted on May 26, 2024, in two shifts at many centres across the country. The answer key was released on June 2. Only the top 2.5 lakh students of JEE Main 2024 get a chance to appear in JEE Advanced. This year, the cut-off marks of JEE Advanced had increased. The minimum cut-off for general category candidates in JEE Main 2024 was 93.2 percent.
