The National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 10 extended the deadline for registering for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 exam till, May 15. Candidates who have not applied can apply for the UGC-NET 2024 exam by visiting the NTA UGC website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. According to an official announcement from NTA, the dates have been extended since the agency has received several requests from applicants to extend the deadline for submitting the online application for UGC-NET June 2024.

The UGC – NET June 2024 online registration period will end on May 15, 2024, as per the announcement from the NTA. Until May 16, 2024, at 11:59 p.m., registered candidates may pay their fees by credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.

UGC NET 2024: Steps to apply

Step 1: Visit ugcnet.nta.ac.in, the official website of UGC NET.

Step 2: On the main page, click the link labelled UGC NET June 2024.

Step 3: Go to “new candidate register here” and click.

Step 4: The candidate must fill out the online application form.

Step 5: Create a passcode and select a security question.

Step 6: Enter the Application Number to log in now.

Step 7: Complete the application.

Step 8: Enter the necessary information.

Step 9: Upload the necessary files and press the “Submit” button.

Step 10: Pay the application fee.

Step 11: Take a printout of the confirmation page after downloading it for your records.

The UGC NET 2024 exam is scheduled on June 16, 2024. The exam will take three hours and 180 minutes to complete. Pen and paper, or OMR, will be used for the exam. There will be multiple-choice, objective-type questions on both papers. Following the exam format, there will be 50 questions in NET Paper 1, each of 100 marks. This component will assess the candidates’ understanding of general awareness, reading comprehension, reasoning, research aptitude, and teaching. Paper 2 will evaluate domain knowledge with 100 questions for 200 points, based on the candidate’s chosen subject.

The UGC-NET is a critical examination that assesses eligibility for a variety of academic activities, including the Junior Research Fellowship, employment as an assistant professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges. The NTA will administer the UGC-NET for 83 disciplines in Pen and Paper format.
