Kareena Kapoor Reveals She Controls Screen Time for Taimur, Jeh: 'They Ask Us Why We're On Phone...' | Exclusive
Kareena Kapoor tells News18 that she and Saif Ali Khan controls how long sons Taimur and Jeh get to watch TV.

Kareena Kapoor has reached a milestone of 25 years in Bollywood. Her latest film, The Buckingham Murders, is out now. To celebrate, PVR Cinemas is holding a film festival in her honour. At the Special Event and Announcement for the same, Kareena Kapoor spoke at length about her films.

I always wanted to play a detective and now I have done that. I have to think of what else I have to do. So, I’ve never really thought of this is a particular genre. I look at characters as something that I would enjoy playing. Because, you have to spend, you know, 50, 60, 70 days with that character in you. So, you have to really enjoy doing it. That’s the most important thing, I think, for an actor. To enjoy playing that part. Otherwise, how will you be able to spend so much time being that particular person?

When reminded that Kareena Kapoor had once spoken to News18 about how her older son Taimur had really enjoyed watching Bhool Bhoolaiya with his dad Saif Ali Khan, Kareena put up a big smile. On being asked if there is any film of hers that Taimur has watched, she said, “I guess maybe I should get them to watch something at the festival, I think. Because it’s playing.”

On being asked if she regulates screen timings for Taimur and Jeh, Kareena said she has to do it – there’s no option. “Monday to Friday, screen time is, like, no! But then he’s always like, ‘But then why are you watching TV?’ ‘Why are you on your phone?’ These days, the parents also have to do what they want their kids to do. So, when we are wanting to put them to bed, then we are also reading and not watching TV till they go to sleep. Because I guess they learn from example – there’s no other way. They’re going to see us on the phone or on the screen. They’ll want to do that.”

Meanwhile, Kareena is currently seen in The Buckingham Murders. With a lot of love and appreciation from both the audience and critics alike, the film continues to prove its strong presence, and raked in ₹8.82 Cr. NBOC, which is indeed a good number for a genre like mystery thriller.
