Samridhi Diwan talks about her experience working on the Good Bad Girl web show. The show is currently streaming on Sony LIV.

Known for her roles in web shows like The Office and Imperfect, Samridhi Dewan starred in the recently released web show Good Bad Girl. Helmed by Vikas Behl, the show’s plot revolves around Samridhi’s character Maya Ahuja, a lawyer who is excellent at telling lies. In a conversation with News18 Showsha, Samridhi Dewan talked about her role in the show and her experience of working with co-star Gul Panang.

On being asked about her experience of shooting for Good Bad Girl, the actress shared, “It was impossibly amazing. It was the happiest experience of my life. It’s very rare for a relatively new person to get a part like this. We have very less shows which are women-led, and literally, all of them are already being led by famous actors – whose filmography is massive. To get a show like this is like getting a jackpot."

Samridhi shared that it’s such a unique project, that ‘nobody would say no to it.’ “At first when I got the audition script, and when I read that, the first thing which I noticed was – this person was very bizarre. The speed of her speech is insane, and she is very witty it’s a very fast-paced show overall and the writing of it is very interesting and different. So I think when you watch the show you will know why I said yes to it," said Samridhi.

Samridhi’s Maya is a very smart and cunning girl who knows how and when to lie and turn things in her favour. Samridhi shared the process of adapting to the role and the prep she went through.

She shared, “Of course, there was a fair amount of preparation that went into it. I assumed that it was a comic show and when we categorise it we’ll say it’s a dark comedy. But, I thought the vibe will be easy on set. Having said that, when I got into it and did shoot for a few days, I realised that at the end of the day I feel very exhausted – I think it’s because of my character Maya – she is constantly walking on eggshells. Internally, she is trying to dodge a lot of s**t that she has brought upon herself. So, you can imagine by seeing her that what this person (Maya) is doing is ridiculous, or it is so entertaining, but at the same time she is going through a lot and if she makes one mistake, it could be the end for her. So, it’s like walking on eggshells."

The series also features Gul Panag as Zaina Mistry, a cutthroat and authoritative boss who is also the owner of the law firm where Maya is employed.

On being asked about her on-screen and off-screen equation with Gul, Samridhi asserted, “She is such a diverse person, when I met her I felt that I have so much to learn from her. She has a law degree herself and she is also a pilot. She is very much into adventure, health and fitness. I feel she not only guides me as per our industry, but I can see what the takeaway is that you can be good at very many things. You don’t have to be one-dimensional. You can be very diverse and that’s something I aspire to."
