99 percent: because one can’t be too sure. This is the probability that La Liga boss Javier Tebas pinned onto the chances of French superstar Kylian Mbappe moving to Los Blancos, Real Madrid in the upcoming summer window.
According to French daily L’Equipe, the La Liga President stated that he did not have any official confirmation but is almost certain inherently that Mbappe will land at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Knowing that he is leaving PSG, there is a 99 percent chance that Mbappe will sign for Real. But I don’t know if he has already signed,” the La Liga president Tebas said.
“It’s big news for Real and for Spanish football. He is one of the best players in the world. From my point of view, (Jude) Bellingham, (Erling) Haaland and Mbappe are the three dominant players on the planet, and two are already at Real Madrid,” said Tebas.
News from earlier this week had already reported that the Frenchman had announced to his current PSG teammates about his departure.
To add to the whole saga, according to Spanish media outlet Marca, it is believed that Mbappe has already agreed to a contract with Los Blancos, which will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu till 2029.
That’s not all though. Other rumours have arisen such as that of Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, who has also reportedly told his players that Kylian Mbappe will be joining them next season.
Real have also reportedly gone out of their way to garner favour with the World-Cup winner, with other reports stating that Mbappe will inherit the cherished number 10 jersey upon joining their ranks.
Tebas also praised the way Real Madrid is run.
“Economically, they are very responsive,” he said.
“Currently their financial results are very good and they can spend much more than they do. Real were very prudent financially and prepared for the signing of Mbappe.”
