Madrid: Italian agent Donati Di Campli expects Napoli striker Edinson Cavani to choose Spanish giants Real Madrid ahead of Chelsea and Manchester City. "For the future of Cavani, I think there is a lot of uncertainty, but El Matador is already in the Merengues shirt and will go to Real Madrid," Di Campli told reporters.
Cavani can be bought out of his deal with Napoli if a club can offer £55m, with Real Madrid reportedly more likely to do so than Chelsea or City. According to the reports earlier Chelsea made a bid of £34 million and Fernando Torres, but this was rejected by Napoli who are now managed by former Blues manager Rafael Benitez.
Even the father of Napoli striker had earlier stated that his son will prefer Real over any other club. "Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid," Luis Cavani told Futboleros, part of Marca TV in Spain. "He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through. He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli."
However, he warned that any deal for his son could prove difficult to negotiate given the reported €65m (£55m) fee Napoli are demanding for the 29-goal top scorer in Serie A last term.
