Arsenal snub Barca bid for Fabregas
Barcelona have tabled their first offer of 27 million pounds for Cesc Fabregas.

London: Reports coming from England suggest that Spanish and European champions Barcelona have tabled their first offer for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Despite offering 35.5 million pounds last summer for the 24-year-old, Barca have lowered their valuation owing to fears over his hamstrings.

However, according to The Sun, the lure of landing one of the best players in the world has proved far too great to the Catalan outfit, and they have reportedly tabled a first offer to Arsenal, suggested to be in the region of 27 million pounds.

The paper further claims that the offer was immediately rejected, but that Barca are ready to up their bid to 35 million pounds, a fee that could seriously test the resolve of Arsenal's bigwigs.

The 24-year-old left the club to join Arsenal in 2003 when he felt that he would get better first-team opportunities elsewhere, an initially risky move that he has since justified by becoming one of the world's best midfielders, as well as a talisman of Arsenal.
