Force India do well in British GP practice
Sutil completed 18 laps in the second session with a fastest timing of 1 minute 51.738 seconds.

Silverstone: Force India's Adrian Sutil finished a creditable sixth while Paul Di Resta occupied the seventh place in the free practice ahead of Sunday's British Grand Prix.

Driving the VJM04, Sutil completed 18 laps in the second session with a fastest timing of 1 minute 51.738 seconds.

Di Resta recorded a fastest timing of 1:51.781 while completing seven laps.

Reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg finished ninth with a best timing of 1:48.598 in the first session but did not participate in the afternoon.

Sutil did not participate in the morning session in which De Resta finished 11th with a best of 1:48.730.

"It started raining just before the session and the track remained very wet for the whole afternoon. I spent most of my time on the full wet tyre because there was a lot of standing water on the track. Then, at the end of the session, I was able to do my final run on intermediates. The forecast for tomorrow looks a bit better. Hopefully get some dry track time," said Sutil.

Thanks to the wet track, the drivers were deprived of an opportunity to do any dry running.

"It was also quite windy and the conditions were not really consistent enough to do much useful running. However, we seem quite competitive and the balance of the car felt good right from the start.

"It's a shame to have missed out on some dry track time, but everybody is in the same position. It means we will have a lot of work to do tomorrow - assuming it is dry," said De Resta.

Hulkenberg said : "I worked a bit on the balance, tried the high downforce spec rear wing and compared it to our baseline rear wing to get some aero data."
