The Spanish club announced Enrique's signing on Saturday, hours after they said they were parting ways with Resino.
Enrique is a former midfielder who played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Sporting Gijon. He coached Roma to a seventh-place finish in Italy's Serie A in 2011-12 after managing Barcelona's B team from 2008-11.
Celta avoided relegation on the final day of last season.
