Liverpool: Malky Mackay insists he will not resign as Cardiff manager amid a power struggle with owner Vincent Tan.
Mackay's position has come under fresh doubt this week after the Malaysian owner sent him an email requesting him to stand down or be sacked.
Speaking publicly for the first time since then after a 3-1 loss at Liverpool, Mackay told broadcaster BT Sport: "I won't be walking away. That's the first thing. I'm proud to be the manager of Cardiff City ... I couldn't look at myself resigning."
At Anfield on Saturday, Cardiff fans showed their support for Mackay, chanting his name and holding up "Tan out" banners.
Mackay led Cardiff into the Premier League for the first time last season. The Welsh club is four points above the drop zone.
