Mourinho said he knew Ferguson was set to retire and had disclosed his plans of returning to Chelsea to the former United manager.

"The special one" Jose Mourinho has springed in a new surprise saying that former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had told him about his retirement plans before hand.

According to a report in The Daily Mail, Mourinho who returned to Stamford Bridge for a four-year term said, "I knew Ferguson was retiring many months ago. I am his friend to know he is going to retire".

The Portuguese Manager was also speculated to be Ferguson's successor but the rumor mills were put to rest once David Moyes was appointed the new United manager. Mourinho also added that Ferguson knew about his intentions of returning to Chelsea.

"Ferguson knew that the club I want to coach in England is Chelsea. I would turn down everyone in the world - not just the United job - for Chelsea.'

Mourinho also heaved praise on Sir Alex's stature saying whatever he says is the bible and it has to be right considering the years of experience behind him.

The 50-year-old manager, who was with the blues during his primary tenure from 2004-2007 won the Premier League twice during his first spell in charge before leaving for Spanish club Real Madrid.
