Real Madrid Star, Jude Bellingham Asks Fans 'to Keep Perspective' After England Grab a 2-2 Draw vs Belgium
England have gone winless in their two international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium ahead of the Euros. But Jude Bellingham believes that the preparation will hold them in good stead.

English midfielder Jude Bellingham lashed out at the critics of the national football team following their 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley on Wednesday.

England were trailing 2-1 in the final seconds of the stoppage time when Bellingham latched on to a cut-back from James Maddison inside the 18-yard box and found the bottom-right corner to avoid a second successive loss at Wembley.

The result meant that Gareth Southgate’s men did not win either of the two international friendlies ahead of the 2024 European Championship, having lost 1-0 to Brazil last weekend.

Jude Bellingham was having none of it after the game, asking the fans to “keep perspective” amidst a wave of negativity following the outcomes of the two games.

“I liked it because I know the rubbish we would’ve got if we lost two games on the bounce. With these games, you’ve got to keep perspective. A lot of lads are making debuts, a lot of these lads I’ve never played with before and I thought we created a lot of chances. I’m happy I could make it up to the team – but we should be winning with all the chances we made,” Jude Bellingham told Channel 4, as quoted by Goal.

“Two games that will stand us in great stead heading into the Euros. I know everyone will be negative about it but you have to take these games for what they are. Take the positives, learn from the negatives and I’m sure we’ll be fine,” he added.

Jude Bellingham also stood in defence of England head coach Gareth Southgate, who was without the services of several regular players, including the likes of Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, and Jordan Henderson, while also losing right-back Kyle Walker and John Stones to injuries midway through the Brazil and Belgium games, respectively.

Jude Bellingham is enjoying a terrific season for his new team Real Madrid, who signed him in the summer of 2023. The 20-year-old superstar has 20 goals and eight assists in 31 appearances for Los Blancos, breaking records and becoming somewhat of a talismanic figure at the Santiago Bernabeu.
