Milan: AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Tottenham Hotspur did not deserve to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they were inferior to the Rossoneri over the two legs.
The Italian giants crashed out of the competition 1-0 on aggregate after being held by Spurs to a goalless draw in the second leg of their last 16 encounter at White Hart Lane.
Ibrahimovic believes that AC Milan deserved better than a European exit, and according to Eurosport.se, said: “We played well, but didn't get the goal, which was the only thing we were lacking on Wednesday evening.
“Over two legs Tottenham had one shot on goal and scored. The best team doesn't always win."
Reflecting on his own performance against the Premier League outfit and looking ahead to the rest of the season, the Swedish striker added: "I am satisfied with my performance and everyone in the team played well. I tried to score, but the ball would not cross the line.
"It's a shame we went out of the Champions League, but we still have the Scudetto and Coppa Italia to focus on."
