Chandramukhi 2 To Release On Netflix On This Date

Chandramukhi 2 was released on the big screens on September 28 and received poor reviews upon its release. The audience criticised the poorly written storyline and the acting performances of Kangana Ranaut, Raghava Lawrence and others. Now, the film is all set to have its OTT run as well.

Reportedly, Chandramukhi 2 will premiere on Netflix on October 27. As per reports, the official announcement regarding the release date will be made soon. Reports suggest that the OTT rights to the film have been acquired by Netflix for an astounding sum of Rs 8 crore. The movie, which was produced on a budget of more than Rs 60 crore, tanked at the box office with a loss of more than Rs 20 crore.

Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel to the first hit instalment of the franchise that received immense success at the box office. Chandramukhi 2’s storyline revolves around Murugesan (Vadivelu), who owns the Vettaiyan Palace, and rents it out to a rich family. This family visits the village to perform a ritual in their ancestral temple. The ghost of Chandramukhi resurfaces when a character unknowingly touches a jewel Ganga wore in the first part. The cast of this movie includes Premgi Amaren, Aathmika, Srushti Dange, Riyaz Khan and others. Lyca Productions, Sivaji Productions and Sun Pictures produced this movie directed by P Vasu.

Raghava Lawrence opened up about the failure of Chandramukhi 2 at a song launch ceremony for his upcoming film Jigarthanda DoubleX. He said, “I got my money as a fee for Chandramukhi 2 and acted with four heroines. We don’t win every time in life. I thought about becoming a dance master while working as a side dancer. Then became a director and hero. It is because of God’s grace I am getting offers as a hero with the kind of glamour I have. We don’t have to think about hits and flops. We must do our work, they will follow.”

Jigarthanda DoubleX, written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, will be released on the big screens on November 12. Five Star Bench Creations and Stone Bench Films have produced this movie.
