The police arrested Prakash Chandra Arora from Bhanpura.

Bhopal: A 58-year-old man was arrested late on Thursday evening in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district for sending threatening messages to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The police arrested Prakash Chandra Arora from Bhanpura, 400 km from here.

The chief minister's wife, Sadhna Singh, had earlier in the day received two fax messages saying, "The Jan Ashirvad yatra would be blown off with the help of remote control device if it was not cancelled immediately. If the device fails, terrorists might use suicide bombers in Ujjain or on way to Neemuch."

Mandsaur Police Superintendant D.P. Gupta said, "On the basis of telephone numbers, the police traced two STD/PCO booths Pragati telecom and Amibika telecom from where the faxes were sent.

On the basis of information given by the PCO owners, police arrested Prakash Chandra Arora of Punjabi Colony, Bhanpura, Mandsaur."

Arora told the police that he did so since he had an intuition the chief minister would be attacked.

The police nabbed him since he had asked for the fax number of the chief minister's house from the PCO owner.

However, the police could not find anything objectionable during search of his house.

What's your reaction?
