Thirteen people, including a toddler, were killed and five injured when the four-wheeler they were travelling in was hit by a lorry at Kadappa in Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours of Friday.
Six of the deceased were from Wadi Wale Tanda Nayak of Aurad Taluk in Bidar district, and the rest were natives of Shilvani Tanad in Maharashtra.
The deceased from Bidar have been identified as: Govind Jadhav (55), Jijabai Jadhav (48), Venkat (28), Adittya (2), Bhagabai Shivaji (35) and Anita (20).
The seven others from Maharashtra who were killed in the accident were: Yeshodha (40), Meenabai Bhutale (32), Nagabai (50), Nagendra (48), Ramesh (40), Maruti (48) and Anand (30).
They were on their way to Tirumala when the coal-laden lorry coming from the opposite direction rammed into their four-wheeler carrying 18 people between Rajampet and Nandularu at around 5.30 am, police said. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The police said the bodies of the deceased would be sent to their villages on Saturday morning.
