BANGALORE: On the second death anniversary, family and friends of Sanjana Singh, a student who died after a wall collapsed on her in 2010, staged a protest on Hebbal Road on Friday. Despite the loss, family members of the victim joined hands not only to pay tributes, but also to urge the authorities to take steps to prevent such incidents in the future. Sanjana’s friends said Pragya had become more quiet and closed since the death of her sister. A K Singh, Sanjana’s father said, he would  continue to fight for justice. “I am a common man and the only way I can seek justice is through Lokayukta. However, it does not look like we will get justice,” he said. The wall has not been repaired and continues to be in a dilapidated state.Sanjana’s family refused to receive the compensation offered by BBMP.Madhu Singh, Sanjana’s mother, said, “Compensation will not bring our daughter back to life. They built the wall with our taxes, and our own children are victims of their carelessness. The system must be reformed. This wall should be rebuilt first, only then the faith of people will come back. We do not want more people to lose their lives because of some people, who are not doing their job properly.”“Sanjana’s parents have to pass by this place everytime they go home. It is very painful for them,” said Tasmiya, Sanjana’s friend.
