A minor was among three persons killed and over 12 others were injured on Friday in storm-related incidents in the district, police said.
17-year-old Rohit, a fruit-juice seller, was crushed to death under a tree uprooted by the storm in Muradnagar area here. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, a senior police officer said.
In another incident, Kavita (33) was killed and her brother was seriously injured when a heavy traffic sign board fell on them.
"They were going towards Ghaziabad from Delhi's Karawal Nagar. When Kavita reached the round-about near Gagan Cinema, a traffic sign board fell on her, causing her death on the spot while her brother escaped with serious injuries," police said.
In a third incident, an unidentified 35-year-old woman was killed when the roof of her house collapsed due to the storm, they said.
Eight persons were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Prem Nagar area and the conditions of three of them is stated to be serious.
Police said that several vehicles were crushed under uprooted trees and long power outages are being witnessed across the district as several electric polls have damaged in the storm.
