Cops said Santosh and Veer Singh were initially unaware of the crime but had allowed kidnappers to use their home.

Noida: Two days after nabbing the alleged mastermind behind the kidnapping of the three-year-old son of Adobe India's CEO, Anant Gupta, the Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested three people for harbouring the snatchers.

Noida police arrested Santosh Singh and Veer Singh, the paternal aunt and uncle of Chattrapal, from Mathura. Chattrapal, who was arrested on Sunday, is alleged to be the brain behind the kidnapping of Anant .

Sunil, a friend of Chattrapal, was arrested from Etah.

Police said Santosh and Veer Singh were initially unaware of the crime but had allowed the kidnappers to use their premises in Mathura. Sunil had helped them find a place to keep the child.

"The uncle and aunt were unaware of the kidnapping as Chattrapal told them that Anant was his friend's child. The couple later asked Chattrapal to take Anant away after they learnt the truth about the child," said Rajesh Kumar Singh Rathore, senior superintendent of police.

Rathore added: "The couple should have informed the police of the kidnapping after they came to know of it."

"None of three arrested people had given shelter to the kidnappers for money. They initially did not know of the crime, but once they learnt of it they asked Chattrapal to vacate their premises," said Rathore.

Pawan, an accomplice of Chattrapal, is still absconding.

Anant had been kidnapped last Monday from his home in Noida as he was going to school. He was set free by the kidnappers on Friday after Rs 50 lakh ransom was reportedly paid.
