HYDERABAD: The State Legislative Assembly will take up a debate on no-trust motion moved by Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday. The debate will continue on Monday, the last day of the winter session of the Assembly.The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) took a decision to this effect after the Assembly was adjourned on Saturday.Earlier, Naidu moved the no-trust motion in the Assembly, which was supported by 76 MLAs, including CPI members. Naidu read out the motion that ‘This House expresses no-confidence in the Council of Ministers’.Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar said the motion would be taken up for discussion as it was supported by more than one tenth of MLAs. As per the present strength of the Assembly, the support of 29 MLAs is needed to move the no-trust motion.The speaker who held the BAC meeting later, decided to take up the no-trust move for debate on Sunday.It may be recalled that the TDP members stalled the House proceedings on Thursday and Friday demanding that it take up the debate on the no-trust motion immediately. The TDP stalled the proceedings on Saturday also on the issue forcing the speaker to adjourn the House twice. Later, the speaker held a meeting with floor leaders and found a way out. After the meeting, the House reassembled and took up a short discussion on drought in the state.When Naidu moved the no-trust motion, a few TDP, BJP and TRS members were not present in the House. The speaker told the TRS members that it was not necessary to count the MLAs who supported the no-trust move when they insisted for it.
