Acid attack suspect surrenders
The man who threw acid on Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's sister surrendered in a Chandigarh local court.

Chandigarh: The main accused in the sensational acid attack incident of Dehradun, Avinash Sharma, surrendered in a local court in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old man, hailing from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, has been remanded in judicial custody for a trial in Dehradun court.

Avinash had allegedly thrown acid on Rangoli, the sister of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.

Rangoli sustained serious burn injuries and was admitted to a hospital.

Her room mate Vijay Jublani had sustained five per cent burns in the attack.

The Uttaranchal Police had released a sketch of the accused following the incident.

The judicial remand was awarded by Duty Magistrate Atul Marya following the surrender of the accused in the local court here this evening.

Avinash will now be produced in a Dehradun court on Thursday, police here said.
