ASI held in Paravoor sex scandal case

KOCHI:  The Crime Branch team, investigating the Paravoor sex scandal, arrested a police official in connection with the case on Monday.Padmakumar,48, of Manjivillankara, Neyyatinkara, is an assistant sub-inspector attached to the technical wing of Kerala Armed Police Battalion in Thrissur.According to the police, the accused had allegedly abused the girl at a flat  near Lourdes Hospital in  the city.   The arrest of a police official has given a new twist to the case as the involvement of more from the police force are suspected.Earlier, a Tamil Nadu-based police officer was held. Official sources said that they had intensified their combing operation to  nab those accused who were at large.
