BBMP scam: Panel chief holds on to files

BANGALORE: While  BBMP Commissioner H Siddiah is been writing letters to G Manjunath Raju, Chairperson of Standing Committee for Taxation and Finance to hand over the files related to the multicrore bogus bill scam, Manjunath seems to be least bothered to hand them over.Speaking to reporters, Manjunath claimed that he has 133 files related to the scam.  “I will not hand them over to the commissioner, unless he receives direction from the Mayor. Moreover, this matter is coming up in the BBMP Council on November 29 and 30,” he said. He further said that he is investigating the files. But when asked about the files he has, he said that he does not know.“It was the commissioner who handed over the probe to BMTF without informing the mayor or deputy mayor or the chairman of any of the standing committees. Now it is the same person who has written to the government for Lokyukta probe,” he said.When asked about the 133 files that are with Manjunath Raju, who is denying to give them to the commissioner, BMTF Inspector General of Police (IGP) R P Sharma said that BMTF is probing the scam. “We will intensify the procedure if needed, to procure files,” he said.
