Bidar woman dies in Hyderabad hospital

HYDERABAD: A woman died after a minaret of the Nizamia Tibbi hospital in the Old City collapsed and fell on her on Sunday. The incident occurred near the parking lot near the main entrance of the hospital.The victim, Sheen Bai, 50, belonged to Balki village in Bidar district, Karnataka.She came to the city to get her husband, Babu Rao, treated for paralysis. According to police, Sheena was taking nap at a ‘chabutra’ after having her lunch when almost half of the minaret collapsed on her, killing her instantly.Moghulpura police inspector Syed Fayyaz said the minaret, made of limestone, might have collapsed due to it being weakened by frequent rubbing of branches of trees nearby it.
