BHUBANESWAR: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday raised the issue of Central neglect of Orissa to counter the Opposition’s attack on the State Government for its all-round failure. Raising the issue during zero hour, Prabhat Tripathy (BJD) criticised the Centre for announcing a package of ` 2,160 crore for West Bengal ignoring Orissa’s demand. Besides, the Centre has also started the process for granting special category status to Bihar, he said. His party colleague Prabhat Biswal said that the House should take up discussion on the issue. Several other members, including Debasis Nayak (Ind), Padmanabha Behera and Anant Das (both BJD) said that a resolution should be brought requesting the Jharkhand government to declare Oriya as the second language for Kharsuan and Sareikela areas.
