BJP kicks off 'SMS to CM' campaign
The BJP in Punjab started "SMS to CM" capaign to "awaken" the Chief Minister on the power situation in the state.

Chandigarh: The BJP in Punjab on Thursday started "SMS to CM" capaign to "awaken" chief minister Amarinder Singh on the power situation in the state.

With mobile phones in their hands, party leaders initiated BJP's mobile SMSing campaign against the Congress Government "generated Power Crisis" by SMSing poetic messages to the Punjab Chief Minister.

Aimed at sensitising general public towards the burning issue of power crisis in Punjab, party has set up a target of sending at least 1 lakh SMS messages to the Punjab Chief minister ahead of assembly polls in state early next year, BJP youth wing leader Vineet Joshi said.

Poetic verses have been chosen to drive home the point that unprecedented but not unavoidable power shortage in Punjab is beyond tolerance limit of people, Joshi said.

BJP intends that all one lakh messages by general Public be sent to the Punjab chief minister himself on his mobile, said Joshi.

"We will keep sending the messages to drive home our point on terrible state of afairs his (CM's) state is witnessing due to power shortage in state", said Joshi.
