BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav on Saturday said that his convey was allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants who also attempted to open fire at him.
Yadav told News18 that he is safe and during the incident, one of his supporters sustained a head injury. He mentioned that two or three similar incidents have happened to him in the past.
Yadav is the BJP candidate from the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat, contesting against RJD’s Misa Bharti, daughter of former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Speaking to the news agency IANS, Bharat Soni, Patna City SP (East), stated that the incident occurred when the BJP leader’s vehicle was passing through the Patna-Jehanabad Highway.

Blaming the opposition for the attack, Union Minister Giriraj Singh stated that the incident reflects their “deep frustration”.
“The firing on Patliputra MP and BJP candidate Ram Kripal Yadav reflects the deep frustration of the opposition,” Singh said in a post on X.
