CHENNAI: History sheeter S Suganthan (27) of Arokiapuram in Thoothukudi district, who was injured along with his accomplice Sathya while making country bombs early on Friday, lost six of his fingers in the explosion.The duo had been staying in Room 9 of TNHB Quarters on New Avadi Road, Kilpauk. The two men are suspected to have taken refuge in the city to escape any revenge attack by their rivals. It was after receiving threat calls that the two started making country bombs in their room, when the explosives went off around Thursday midnight. While Sathya escaped with minor injuries, Suganthan’s fingers were severed in the impact of the blast. He was admitted in Stanley Medical College Hospital, where a magistrate conducted an inquiry on Saturday. He was later shifted to the Royapettah GH.
