Washington: The White House had a break-in on Monday when an unarmed man jumped the fence and made it several yards inside.

Police and an anti-terrorist team subdued him at gunpoint. This was not his first time that an intruder has been caught in the White House compound.

A secret service spokesman said this man had entered the grounds in February also. He now faces charges for this incident, and for violating a judge's orders to stay away from the White House.

This time he repeatedly yelled that he was a victim of terrorism. He also said he had intelligence for President George W Bush.

The bearded man, apparently unarmed and wearing a ragged T-shirt that said 'God Bless America', scaled the White House fence near the front gates and ran several dozen yards inside. He was yelling: "I am a victim of terrorism."

Bush was inside the executive mansion at the time, having returned several hours earlier from morning church services followed by a mountain-bike trek.

Nearly a dozen black-clad federal agents and uniformed police, some crouching with their guns drawn, surrounded the intruder on a patio near a row of cameras used for TV broadcasts.

He at first ignored orders to get down on his knees, but then complied and was handcuffed and taken away.

What's your reaction?
