New Delhi: The Inquiry Committee constituted to probe the cash-for-query scam completed the process of seeking evidence with seven members of Lok Sabha, caught on camera while taking money, deposing before it.
Senior Congress MP Pawan Kumar Bansal who is heading the Committee, said that the panel will have its meeting on Monday to study the evidence collected.
But he refused that the Committee had any plans to summon more persons in connection with the scam.
He said the committee will not seek any extension and hopes to complete the job on time.
It has been asked to submit its report by December 21, two days before the Winter Session of Parliament concludes.
Those who appeared before the committee on Sunday were Y G Mahajan, Suresh Chandel, Pradeep Gandhi and Chandra Pratap Singh (all BJP), Raja Ram Pal and Lal Chandra Kol (both BSP) and Ramsewak Singh (Congress).
Former Union Minister M K Anna Patil of the BJP, Narendra Kushwaha of BSP and Manoj Kumar of RJD had appeared on Saturday.
Bansal declined to answer any queries about what any individual member deposed before the committee.
Chandel had asked some time to appear before the committee and wanted to be accompanied by a lawyer, but it was not allowed.
The kingpin of the sting operation Anirrudha Bahl and two of his colleagues from cobrapost.com, were also heard on Saturday by the committee.
