BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Special Court, which is hearing the case pertaining to corruption charges against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, has summoned him, his two sons, son-in-law and six others to be present before it on August 29.It is the second such summons to Yeddyurappa. The court had already issued summons in another case on August 8, asking him to be present before it on August 27. The court issued summons to Yeddyurappa, his sons B Y Raghavendra (MP) and B Y Vijayendra, son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar, Hemachandra Sagar (MLA), former housing minister S N Krishnaiah Setty and four others.The summons was issued by judge Sudheendra Rao following a private complaint filed by advocates Sirajin Basha and K N Balaraj who had alleged that Yeddyurappa had indulged in irregularities in de-notification of lands acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority. They had filed complaints with the court after Governor H R Bhardwaj accorded sanction for prosecution of Yeddyurappa when he was chief minister.The summons came on the complaint alleging denotification of land acquired by Bangalore Development Authority, including 10 acres in Uttarahalli in Bangalore South taluk favouring Hemachandra Sagar, resulting in loss of about `175 crore to the government. Another case involves illegal denotification of BDA land of 2.5 acres in Agaram village. In yet another case, Krishnaiah Setty allegedly used Yeddyurappa’s influence to re-allocate 400 acres of land to the Karnataka Telcom Department Employees Cooperative Society in Attibele and Sarjapur near Anekal.
